What I use is bagged TVP grounds. They are hella cheap at rainbow acres @ $1.69 a bag. If you can't get this stuff then use Yves or Litelife ground round. I put 2 cups of TVP in the microwave with 2 cups of water and cook it for 6 min. While this is cooking I cut some mushrooms and onions and fry them, being efficient is the key cause you are hungry as farts and you want to be frying while the TVP is soaking up the water. Keep an eye on the TVP cause it tends to overflow like diarrhea in the microwave and it's a bitch to clean that crap once is crusts up.
Once the onion/mushroom mix is done, plate it and fry the TVP. Add 3 or 4 soy sauce packets that you stole from the chinese place on the corner. Then add secret beaner spices (garlic powder and chili powder). Make sure you use an ass-ton of oil cause TVP sticks like shit on a shoe. Oh I think there is some spinach in there for some reason too.
Once the meat is done you are gonna cram it in the hard taco. Then you cram the hard taco into the soft taco. Oh man that sentence ruled. What we are making here are double decker tacos, that's the beaner secret.
Dump a loads worth of Del Scorcho on each bite. Enjoy.

you know the have beans, lettuce, and even tortillas at the same store as has all your other ingredients...
ReplyDeleteYeah but 12 tacos for 4 bux, you cannot beat that price. Unless you buy corn meal and make your own tortillas, soak and cook your own beans and grow your own lettuce. Then you need to take into account the amount of money needed in water and gas and electricity to cook them. Go with del taco and support your local beaner establishment.
